Read river descriptions, trip reports & rafting advice…
Date: Thursday, 19 November 2020
River: Franklin River.
I meant to make a Franklin trip happen last year but it didn't eventuate, this year it's going to happen!
Dates will be between the Thursday 19th of November and Tuesday the 1st of December. Realistically it will only be 9–12 days on water but we need some spare days up our sleeves to ensure the water levels are right and position vehicles.
This is a remote area wilderness river with plenty of whitewater. You don't need to be particularly experienced but general fitness/resilience and an outdoorsy background is essential. This trip is limited to people that I am satisfied have the requisite competency for the trip, there are limited spaces so there may be a waiting list if there is a lot of interest.
We get the yacht out from the end of our river paddle to Strahan which costs $230 per person. I will potentially need to hire another guide unless another senior guide puts their hands up to run the other raft. I envisage overall costs including food, equipment, petrol and the yacht out to cost about $700 – $850 per person for the 10ish day mission. I will attempt to discount this for people with whitewater rescue certification to encourage experienced rafters to come along but I have yet to consider this fully.
Hit me up if you're keen on want any further info.
