Heazlewood River

Person standing at the side of the river near a pack raftGrade: 2–3
Time: 4 hours
Get in: Waratah Road bridge over the Heazlewood
Get out: We continued on to the Whyte but you could walk off from a 4wd track at the confluence of the Whyte.
Water level: Recent rain

Lovely low stress river through some beautiful rainforest with plenty of easy class 3 whitewater. Would be quite scratchy at low levels, need a bit of rain for big rafts although packrafting would be ok at most levels.

I ran this as a multi day trip from the Heazelwood all the way down the Whyte to the Pieman River back to Corinna although you could technically do this as a day trip walking out.
